Jericoacoara:

Located 300 km from Fortaleza the charming Jericoacoara or just Jeri, is a quiet village on the west coast of Ceará, surrounded by freshwater lagoons, clear , blue and calm sea, mangroves , deserted beaches and huge dunes from where you can admire one of the most beautiful sunset in Brazil.

Since 1984 was declared Environmental Protection Area (APA) and became a National Park in 2002 conserving intact its natural beauty.

According to older residents, Jericoacoara means "alligator sunbathing " in the indigenous language, in addition, local fishermen say that the view from the see ( Pedra Furada a tourist point of Jeri) seams the eye of an alligator.

All the streets are sandy. There is no public lighting, electric network is underground, which makes the night of Jeri a spectacle.

The former fishing village now has a lot of shops and delicious restaurants with regional, national and international cuisine as well as a vibrant nightlife with forró, samba, live music and fallen stars on the beach.

Jeri is known worldwide as one of the best places to practice water sports such as windsurfing, kite surfing, surfing, SUP. The bright sun, the warmth of the water and the relentless wind blowing for nine months a year allow to practice sports without losing a day of vacation.
